South Coast MP Shelley Hancock has announced the State Government will commit to building a brand new Police station at Culburra Beach with the old building to be demolished.
Ms Hancock says the current building is inadequate and will soon no longer be able to meet the policing needs of the growing area.
The new station is currently in the planning stages which includes a review of the current site and consideration of alternative sites to build on.
“We’ve listened to their concerns and we will deliver the funding needed to replace the current building.” Ms Hancock said.
“Based on my discussions with the community and local police it is my opinion that the current site remains the optimal option from which police can service the Culburra community and I will be strongly advocating for a rebuild of the station on the existing site,” she said.
