Damaging winds heading our way

We're being warned of some damaging winds heading for the Coast and Highlands.

The Weather Bureau has issued a Severe Weather Warning for gusts averaging around 90 km/h, but could reach in excess of 120 km/h in areas higher than 1900 metres.

BLIZZARDS are likely for alpine areas above 1700 metres from this evening. 

The National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends  back country travel be postponed until conditions improve.

Locations which may be affected include Thredbo, Perisher, Nowra, Bowral, Batemans Bay, Braidwood, Moruya Heads, Goulburn, Katoomba, Lithgow and Cooma.
