A number of South Coast and Illawarra towns have been singled out for grants under the Habitat Action Grants Program.

Almost 600-thousand dollars has been set aside for 26 unique fish habitat projects.

Among those to get a slice of the money will be  recreational angling clubs, community groups, landholders and local councils in  Jamberoo, Narooma, Merimbula, Tathra and  Berkeley.

The money is used to carry out projects that will improve fish habitats and ultimately produce more fish.
