Shoalhaven water restrictions on the way

Shoalhaven Water has warned restrictions are again on the cards.

It says the last significant rainfall in the Shoalhaven catchment was in June and the natural flows in the Shoalhaven River have dropped to a point where they've been forced to cease pumping from the river.

Water restrictions will be imposed when council's off-stream storage drops to 60 percent capacity.. it currently sits at 87 percent.

The Acting Director of Shoalhaven Water Robert Horner says without some significant rain in the near future they're preparing to introduce water restrictions around mid-September.
