Man charged with Douglas Street shooting

A man has been charged in connection with an alleged shooting in Nowra.

Around 8:30pm on Sunday July 21, Police stopped a white Ford Territory in Elizabeth Street.

The male passenger ran from the scene and was eventually found hiding under a house in the same street.

Officers searched him and found three shotgun rounds.

Further investigations have linked the man to an incident outside a unit in Douglas Street, where a number of shots were allegedly fired.

The 33 year old was arrested yesterday.

He was charged with fire firearm in a public place and possess shortened firearm.

He's been refused bail and will appear in Nowra Local Court on Monday.
