A man in his 60's is being assessed by the medical team from the Toll Air Ambulance chopper following a car and truck crash on the Princes Highway at Meroo Meadow.
The collision happened around 7.30am this morning in the roadworks zone between Boxsells and Morschels Lanes.
The driver of the car was trapped in his vehicle for sometime after it was crushed by a truck carrying a shipping container.
He was transported by road to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition with face, head and shoulder injuries.
The Air Ambulance team are assessing him to decide whether or not he needs airlifting for further treatment.
The Highway remains closed in both directions.
The RMS said there are significant delays and are advising motorists to detour around the accident site.
