Rent relief for Shoalhaven Council tenants

Shoalhaven City Council is offering rent relief to some tenants who are renting council properties.

The relief which is aimed at helping local businesses cope during the COVID19 pandemic will apply from April 1 through to the end of September.

That includes those which have been ordered to shut down or have had to adjust to strict trading and social distancing measures such as cafes and restaurants.

It may also include golf clubs, theatres, leisure centres and community groups run by elderly volunteers.

However essential services will be excluded.

That includes childcare and fresh food or groceries, telecommunication carriers, government departments, annual rents below $100 aswell as agreements for parking, ramps, access, encroachments and the like.
