Clubs to re-open their doors


The state’s clubs will re-open their doors on June 1, following the Berejiklian Government’s announcement of a further relaxation of restrictions on the hospitality industry.

As part of the new rules, clubs will be allowed to open for a maximum of 50 patrons per dining area.

ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis welcomed the decision, and said it was great news for the NSW club industry.

“This is a wonderful day for the state’s 1200 clubs, their 41,000 employees and the 3.5 million clubmembers across NSW,” said Mr Landis.

“It’s also welcome news for the thousands of community groups, sporting teams and charities wholey on clubs for funding.


“We thank the NSW Government for the support and the faith they’ve shown in our industry.”

Mr Landis said clubs are committed to ensuring that people are safe when they visit and tothat end venues will be introducing a range of CovidSAFE practices.

“Clubs will enforce social distancing measures, including the implementation of queuing systems and directional signage, and a requirement to remain seated unless placing an order,” said Mr Landis.

“Clubs will also introduce strict cleaning schedules to ensure high-touch surfaces are regularly cleaned, and hand sanitiser will be made available throughout venues."
