For a second time a bronze memorial plaque commemorating an intensive care paramedic who died while rescuing a man from a gorge in Budderoo National Park has been stolen.
The plaque for Mick Wilson was first stolen in 2016 only to be found missing again last week.
NSW Ambulance has described it as the lowest of acts.
In a Facebook post NSW Ambulance Commissioner Dr Dominic Morgan says Mick Wilson was a legend who paid the ultimate price while serving our community.
He described the theft as an appalling act of complete disrespect to his memory.
Immediate plans are underway to have the memorial replaced.
