Police make inroads into case involving break ins at Kiama

Police

The law has caught up with a man, allegedly responsible for a spate of break ins at Kiama.

Between April 16 and June 6, 13 businesses were broken into on Terralong and Manning Streets.

Last Thursday, Police went to a home on Trevor Avenue at Lake Heights and tried to speak with a 40 year old man but he fled on foot and jumped a number of neighbouring balconies.

Officers eventually executed a search warrant and found numerous items connected to the break ins.

Police went back to the home yesterday morning and arrested the 40 year old.

He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with 12 counts of break and enter, steal from dwelling and dispose of stolen property.

He was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court today.
