Members of the Mollymook Outrigger Canoe Club have their fingers crossed that Shoalhaven City Council’s offer to secure a space for a new storage shed at Ulladulla Harbour will come to fruition.

After initial plans for a clubhouse at Burrill Lake’s Barker Reserve were stifled earlier this year, council committed to finding an alternate venue for the storage of the club's canoes and paddling equipment.

While investigations are still in the very early stages, outrigger club president Tracey Rutter says the 50 members are keen to secure a venue and welcome the idea of a possible harbour site alongside the Ulladulla Marine Rescue building.

“There’s still a lot of work to be done to get to approval level,” Ms Rutter said.

“It’s got to be approved through council and community.

“If it goes ahead, the building will be in line with the current Marine Rescue building and in tune with the area.”

The Outriggers paddle from Ulladulla Harbour most days and train at Burrill Lake.
