A man has been charged after he allegedly assaulted a Police Officer at the site of a single vehicle crash near Kiama.
Around 6 last night, Police were called to the Princes Highway at Dunmore where they spoke to two men.
One of them allegedly became aggressive and tried to strike a male senior constable several times, before making numerous threats.
A search of the vehicle revealed cash, drugs and a knife.
A 47-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with the following:
* Assault officer in execution of duty, possess prohibited drug, custody of knife in public place, intimidate police officer in execution of duty, resist officer in execution of duty, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen.
He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today.
