Riders flying after fixing North Nowra BMX track

A group of people spent much of the weekend fixing up a BMX track in the bush off Pitt Street in North Nowra.

About 10 people took to the dirt track with shovels and wheelbarrows, and Luke said it was all about getting the track back to its former standard.

“We’re just rebuilding, trying to get it going again – it’d been deserted for a few years,” he said.

“We’re just trying to make them better. They used to be pretty good, and we’re trying to make them as good as they used to be.”

Luke said the layout was good, but the keen riders wanted to improve the quality of the jumps.

And after spending much of Saturday and Sunday morning fixing up the track, the riders were able to celebrate in their own style on Sunday afternoon by making the most of their creation.

The BMX bikes were flying high as riders performed a range of jumps, twists and backflips on the newly improves track.
