Shoalhaven Family Medical Centres have passed the 20-thousand COVID vaccination mark, and celebrated the milestone before immunising another 1200 people at Vincentia on Saturday.
The milestone jab was given to Melissa Carlsson of Nowra, who said it was the right thing to do, particularly as she had young children.
They include 12-year-old Riley who had been asking when he could get vaccinated.
"It's all about protecting myself and the community, and also my children and everyone else around," Ms Carlsson said.
Joining Saturday's celebrations was officer in charge at the Nowra Police Station, Inspector Ray Stynes, who praised the planning and dedication that went into protecting so many people.
"20,000 vaccinations into the Shoalhaven community is unreal," Inspector Stynes said.
"It's a fantastic result, great effort, great planning, and I can only take my hat off to them.
"And it's not just these centres, it's all the GPs, all the pharmacists," Inspector Stynes said.
