Low COVID case numbers are continuing on the South Coast, with just one new case in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District reported in the 24 hours to 8pm Tuesday.

It was in Wollongong.

At 8pm on Tuesday there were eight patients being treated in the district's hospitals as a result of COVID-19.

During the same timeframe there were 231 new COVID cases recorded across NSW.

Throughout the state there are currently 207 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 33 people in intensive care, 15 of whom require ventilation.

Despite continued low case numbers on the South Coast, health officials urge people to remain vigilant for even the mildest of symptoms, and to continue to come forward for testing and vaccination.
