Roxy cinema damaged in vandalism attack

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance after a man damaged the front entrance to Nowra's Roxy Cinema on Wednesday night.

The man poured petrol on the cinema's front doors just before 11.00pm  and attempted to light it.

He then retrieved an axe from his vehicle and hit the doors, breaking them.

He then climbed on top of an air conditioning unit and damaged the CCTV camera.

The car is described as a white Mitsubishi Triton which was pulling a trailer.

 The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, thin build and unshaven.

He was wearing a navy-blue long-sleeved jumper and a navy-blue cap with black sunglasses on his head.

Officers from South Coast Police District are investigating and are appealing for anyone with information to contact the Nowra Police Station on 4421 9699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
