Police from Strike Force Summer Safe are targeting the Shoalhaven's small villages and local roads as part of the crackdown on people doing the wrong thing.
And they say people breaking the law will be caught, regardless of where they are.
Police are focusing on the Four Ds - drink, drug, dangerous and distracted driving to keep the community safe.
Highway Patrol Officers from Traffic South are involved in the strike force, and say their focus is shifting away from the highways and main roads and onto the Shoalhaven's small villages and local roads.
And with police active in small towns they warn anyone breaking the law will be caught - regardless of where they are.
Police are reminding road users to obey the road rules and slow down.
People who get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle with drugs or alcohol in their system pose a serious danger to themselves and other road users, and police will be taking all necessary action to stop people engaging in risky behaviour on the roads.
