A Shoalhaven man aged in his 80s died on the weekend while battling COVID-19.
There were also another six COVID-related deaths across the state reported in today's figures - four men and two women.
One person was aged in their 70s, three were in their 80s and two were in their 90s.
Three were from Western Sydney, one was from Sydney’s south, one was from the Lower Hunter region and one was from the New England region.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 2,463.
There are currently 1,418 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, including 56 people in intensive care, 18 of whom require ventilation.
There were 15,572new cases across the state during the 24 hours to 4pm yesterday, including 936 from the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
There were 229 from the Shoalhaven, representing a jump of more than 50 cases on the previous Monday.
There were also 45 from Kiama, 234 from the Shellharbour Local Government Area and 428 from Wollongong.
