Gareth Ward is demanding answers from the NSW Heath Minister over two major hospital projects in the region.

The Member for Kiama worked on securing more than a billion dollars in capital investment for the new Shellharbour Hospital (location pictured above) and the major upgrade at Shoalhaven Hospital.

Ward has put questions on notice to Brad Hazzard asking for the project timelines.

"All I ask from this government – is that they tell the truth and honour their commitments," he said.

"Whilst I am pleased the government has made these commitments – I make no apologies for putting maximum pressure on the government to make sure they deliver," Ward said.

"Talk is cheap. Actions speak louder than words!

"We needed these hospital upgrades yesterday and it's important that the government outline its timetable on when our local community can expect works to commence," Ward said.

Information on the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District website states that work on the new facility in Shellharbour will begin before March 2023.

The state government released designs for the $438 million Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment six weeks ago.
