A local adventurer who planned to walk from Uluru to Canberra- in support of the Voice referendum – has made the tough decision to cancel the project- due to a minor health issue.
The 3-thousand kilometre trek to Parliament House would have involved crossing the Simpson Desert unsupported – and pulling a heavy cart for a large part of the journey.
Bundanoon adventurer Huw Kingston said the mission of the TAKE HEART TREK – was to support a YES vote in the Voice referendum.
He says there’s a long road to reconciliation – and the Voice is just a small part of that
“I don’t think it impinges upon the 96 per cent of immigrant Australians like myself,
“But it’s certainly what the majority of first nations people are calling for,”Mr. Kingston said.
The referendum is scheduled to be held later in the year.
