In the late hours of Friday night, 21:30 or early hours of Saturday morning, approximately 4am, residents of Crawford Rd in Colo Vale were the unfortunate recipients of a significant amount of illegal job site waste dumping, including a quantity of asbestos material, blocking access to and from their properties near the intersection of Church Avenue.

The quantity of materials dumped was between 70 and 80 tons. As soon as notified, the Council’s on-call team attended the site before mobilising qualified contractors to remove the waste material and dispose of it legally at a designated waste facility. It is anticipated that the bill to Council for this illegal dumping will exceed $30,000.
Council encourages any residents who may have knowledge, or who may have seen trucks, most likely in a truck and dog configuration between these hours in the Colo Vale area or exiting the highway southbound to contact Council with their information.
