Former Wollondilly MP Nathaniel Smith is the new CEO of the Master Plumbers Association of NSW.
The Association represents contractors, sole traders and large companies.
Mr. Smith was forced to make a career change after he was defeated by Teal Independent Judy Hannan at the state election.
He says the plumbing industry, like many trades is facing a skills shortage.
“I really encourage mums and dads to talk to their kids to get into a trade,
“It can be very lucrative,”Mr. Smith said.
