An increase in motor vehicles thefts

The South Coast Police District is urging the community and visitors to do their part in preventing their vehicles being the target of property crime.

The South Coast region has recently seen an increase in motor vehicles thefts.

A common theme to these thefts is most vehicles have been left unlocked.

The South Coast Police District insists on residents and visitors to secure their vehicles when left alone, even for short amounts of time.

Police warned unlocked vehicles invite opportunistic criminals to take advantage of the situation.
