Three Shoalhaven Fire and Rescue Crews including the Hazmat unit responded to the emergency call out.

Fortunately no-one was injured but residents reported windows and doors were rattled by the force of the blast.

Resident Tanya said ” The whole house shook and it sounded like it was just out the front in the yard, it was very very loud and I thought a bomb had gone off.

“I ran to the window expecting a truck or something to be on fire but there was nothing, it was very scary,” she said.

The plant reported sustained minor damage.
