Motorcyclist airlifted after Jamberoo crash

About 2.40pm on Saturday 27th May 2023, emergency services attended Jamberoo Road at Jamberoo, following reports two motorcyclists had lost control of their bikes and crashed in separate incidents.

A 30-year-old man riding a white Husqvarna motorcycle lost control of his bike as he entered a slight left turn in the road and hit an armco railing.

A 50-year-old woman riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle who was following behind braked to avoid the crash and also slid into the rail guard.

She did not make contact with the first motorcycle and was not injured.

Other motorists stopped and rendered first aid to the male rider and called emergency services.

The male rider was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being conveyed to Albion Park airport where he was flown to St George hospital for further treatment.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District with the assistance of the Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

As inquiries continue, anyone who might have witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is asked to call Lake Illawarra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
