MP Gareth Ward to stand trial in Sydney

Gareth Ward has had his application for separate trials on alleged sexual assault charges rejected by a Sydney District Court Judge.

Judge John Pickering has ruled charges of sexual intercourse without consent, three counts of assault with an act of indecency and one count of common assault with be heard together in Sydney’s Downing Centre District Court on April 8th 2024.

Police allege the incidents took place at Potts Point in 2015 and in Meroo Meadow in 2013.

Mr Ward was re-elected as MP for Kiama at the recent state election, and last month pleaded not guilty to the charges in the Nowra District Court and continues to strenuously deny the allegations.
