Porters Creek Dam, near Milton, is now open as a unique sport fishery for native Australian bass.
The DPI Fisheries Angler Access program has worked with Shoalhaven City Council to open Porters Creek Dam as a catch and release only fly and lure fishery, which means that no bait fishing is allowed.
Stocking of bass will continue to ensure the dam boasts good populations of these hard-fighting native sportfish.

DPI Fisheries officers will be patrolling Porters Creek Dam to ensure fishers follow the rules and respect this exciting new fishery.
