Australia’s top volleyball competition is heading back to the South Coast, with the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre in Bomaderry set to host matches in the Mahindra Australian Volleyball Super League over the next two weekends.
The venue will host a men’s and women’s double-header between NSW Phoenix and Perth Steel on November 7, before all four Super League semi-finals are played in Bomaderry a week later. It’s the second consecutive year the competition has been brought to the Shoalhaven, with Patricia White saying the event will showcase the region’s sporting facilities while delivering a boost for local businesses.
South Coast volleyball fans will also have the chance to cheer on local talent, including Nowra’s Mireille Smith, who lines up for NSW Phoenix. Rebecca Walter, CEO of NSW Phoenix, said Shoalhaven had quickly become a favourite stop on the Super League calendar and was an ideal venue to showcase elite volleyball.
Alongside the national competition, young players will be able to take part in a free volleyball clinic and volunteer opportunities will also be available across both event days.
