Motorists are advised of upcoming night closures of Hampden Bridge at Kangaroo Valley for repair work to be carried out to replace damaged elements.
To minimise impacts on motorists, work will be carried out at night, with Hampden Bridge closed as follows, weather permitting:
- Sunday 19 July, 10pm to 5am
- Monday 20 July to Thursday 23 July, 6pm to 6am
- Sunday 26 July, 10pm to 5am
- Monday 27 July, 8.30pm to 5am
- Tuesday 28 July to Thursday 30 July, 8pm to 5am
Detours will be in place via the Illawarra Highway at Macquarie Pass and the Princes Highway, adding up to 90 minutes to travel times. There will be no night closures on Macquarie Pass during this night work.
Pedestrians will be able to cross the bridge during work, under the guidance of traffic control.
Night work will be carried out from 7pm to 5am, weather permitting on Friday 24 July and Friday 31 July. Access across Hampden Bridge will be maintained during this time with stop/slow traffic control in place.
From Monday 3 August, work will continue from 7am to 6pm on weekdays, weather permitting.
During daytime work, Hampden Bridge will remain open to traffic under stop/slow traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 10 km/h for trucks and buses for the safety of workers and motorists.
Electronic message signs and livetraffic.com will advertise any changes to dates and times due to weather impacts.
