A man has been charged in connection with an alleged pursuit that travelled through Kiama, Nowra and Shellharbour.
About 12:30 this morning, South Coast Police tried to stop a Peugeot travelling along the M1 at Kiama.
The driver failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle continued to Bolong Road before turning around and continuing north along the M1.
The driver then slowed down near Boxel Lane, Meroo and allegedly reversed into a police vehicle before continuing to Devits Road, Foxground.
The vehicle stopped and again allegedly reversed into a police vehicle before driving off.
The pursuit continued and road spikes were successfully deployed at Tabbita Road, Dunmore, with the vehicle stopping north of the Shellharbour Road interchange.
A 60-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously and not stop vehicle when directed to do so.
He was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today.
