Liberal Candidate for Gilmore Andrew Constance today joined with Leader of the NSW Opposition Mark Speakman in Ulladulla to discuss the Ulladulla Harbour redevelopment with members of the community, including the Ulladulla and Districts Community Forum, Ulladulla Marine Rescue and the local Fishing Cooperative.

Mr Constance said the decision of Shoalhaven City Council not to proceed with the works at Ulladulla Harbour means that an urgent solution needs to be found to ensure the project is delivered.

“I believe it is important that the NSW Labor Government stand up and listen to the needs of the community, including important organisations such as Ulladulla Marine Rescue and the Fishing Cooperative who utilise this important facility and surrounds each and every day,” Mr Constance said.

“It is essential that the NSW Labor Government find a way to deliver this important project, and this includes not only the new berths but the associated car park but the boardwalk upgrades which are part of the overall precinct.

“Additionally, it is essential to make sure that the Federal funding, provided by the former Coalition Government, assigned to this project remain in place to ensure the project moves forward, and I am calling on the Albanese Government to make sure this is the case,” Mr Constance said.

The NSW Leader of the Opposition Mark Speakman said: “There is enormous potential at Ulladulla Harbour with berthing, boardwalks and upgraded carparking and it would be to see this happening.”
